The 14th Edition of CaFA Fair Barbados returns to Bagnall’s Point Gallery, Pelican Village Craft Center, Bridgetown, Barbados from March 6 - 10, 2024, featuring 45 artists and galleries representing 16 Caribbean nations, Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal, UK, and the USA. Programming details will be posted on the Events page of this website and all our social media platforms as we finalize our presentations, performances, and workshops. Thanks to Export Barbados for the opportunity to exhibit at the historic Pelican Village space, as well as Barbados National Cultural Foundation and Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. for their most vital support. We look forward to welcoming artists, gallerists, collectors, and connoisseurs from the Caribbean region, Africa, Europe, the Americas and beyond as they join us in Barbados for March 2024.

Presented by Diaspora Now Inc in celebration of Caribbean American Heritage Month

“Explorations in Color & Texture” an exhibition of paintings and 3D sculpture by Alfred Weekes (Barbados); Bernard S. Hoyes (Jamaica); Carla Armour (Dominica); and Malique Shorey (Barbados), was held from June 11 – July 5, 2022, NBHD Brulee, Harlem, New York City

 

“Diaspora Expressions – On Spirituality and Ritual”, scheduled for Caribbean Museum Center for the Arts, St. Croix, USVI from November 18 – December 31, 2022, will feature artwork by visual artists Ademola Olugebefola (USVI); Arlette St. Hill (Barbados); Bernard Stanley Hoyes (Jamaica); Diogenes Ballester (Puerto Rico); Earl D. Etienne (Dominica); Patricia Brintle (Haiti). Curated by CaFA Fair executive Director Anderson M. Pilgrim, participating artists will examine traditional spiritual practices of African Descendants in the Caribbean and Diaspora, and their attendant rituals, in the context of mainstream practices in Western society.

Curated by CaFA Fair Executive Director Anderson Pilgrim, participating artists examine traditional spiritual practices of African Descendants in the Caribbean and Diaspora, and their attendant rituals, in the context of mainstream practices in Western society. This 2nd in a series of exhibitions on this subject celebrated Caribbean American Heritage Month in June 2023 and the Harlem Week festivities in August 2023. The exhibition has been extended to September 30, 2023.
